Second Grade August 20 - 24 Preston Pride Reminders Goals for this week: Math We will review subitizing and addition strategies. I will use strategies and math language to solve and justify math problems. Reading We will grow as readers and decide how a book will be read. I will change how I read a book so that I can better understand it. Writing We will generate small moment ideas by studying the craft of mentor authors. I will discover how everyday moments can become a small moment story. Science We will discuss how matter can be classified by the physical properties you can observe and measure. I will observe different types of matter to identify and classify the properties. Social Studies We will identify ways that exemplifies good citizenship. I will write about what makes a good citizen. Word Work We will set expectations for Word Work stations. I will learn how to use my Word Work choice board.
