NES N&M Practice Educator The Clinical Supervision resource What, Why and How The NES clinical supervision resource- hosted on Turas Learn and the DN CPD resource Anne Moffat NES N&M Practice Educator Intro- highlight that this is on Turas learn and embedded within the DN CPD resources. What? What is clinical supervision? (or what would we like it to be?) Quick show of hands to gauge experience in the room. Facilitate discussion about what we want it to be- Potential time for groups of three then feedback- Valued, protected, feel supported, be heard, listened to, learn, develop, a safe place, affirming, explore, reflective, challenge.....formal, structured, supportive, confidential. FISHBOWL exercise. Potential-listening exercise- depending on size of group- split into pairs. One of each pair to talk, one to listen for 1 minute

Why? Why do we need it ? What do we think the benefits might be? What do you want to get from Clinical Supervision? What difference might it make to your practice? How can clinical supervision benefit and support staff? Open discussion-record on flip chart: Enhanced well being, improve decision making, retain staff, build team, improve relationships, increase understanding, build resilience, staff feel valued, increase job satisfaction, professional accountability, improved communication, safeguarding .
