Family Leadership Institute: Speaking your Truth

Remember: The FLI is what you decide it is, use what you feel is necessary and adapt it to your community. 01 Some districts start with an hour, introduce the FLI, other districts do the whole program 02 Do the small numbers but do high quality, roll out the red carpet for your parents, they will appreciate being heard. 03

Activity #3 Groups of six Five different sized balls Each ball represents a different “life situation” 1. kids 2. job 3. school 4. partner 5. something big (?) Group starts out tossing one ball to each other, then add another ball, and then another to show how hectic life can get and why we need a support team and realize we can’t and shouldn’t be expected to do everything on our own. FLI San Antonio Many different school districts and states were represented in this one conference. Rialto School District in California, Payette School District in Idaho, Des Moines School District in Iowa, Gear Up Program at Oklahoma University, San Antonio Texas, and Florida
