California plane crash

Three people were killed and two injured Monday when a small plane crashed into a residential neighborhood in Riverside, California. The plane had five people on board, and split apart when it hit two Riverside homes. There were no apparent victims on the ground or inside the homes, the fire chief said. But he added that they would do a secondary check Tuesday morning. The people on the plane had been in Southern California for a cheerleading competition at Disneyland, and were heading back to San Jose. No reason has been given as to why the plane crashed but the National Transportation Safety Board will continue its investigation in the morning.

In Other News President Donald Trump is set to give an address to a joint session of Congress tonight. In a State of the Union address, the president usually reflects back on the past year and how the nation is doing, as well as uses the opportunity to highlight the administration's legislative agenda -- which needs congressional support -- and priorities for the country. The Constitution states that the president “shall from time to time give to the Congress information of the State of the Union, and recommend to their consideration such measures as he shall judge necessary and expedient.” President George Washington was the first to deliver a regular address before a joint session of Congress in New York in 1790. The message used to be known as "the President's Annual Message to Congress," until President Franklin D. Roosevelt referred to it as the "Annual Message to Congress on the State of the Union" in 1934. It began to be informally called the "State of the Union" message or address from 1942 to 1946, and since 1947, it has officially been known as the State of the Union Address. Trump's speech is set for Tuesday at 9 p.m. ET. Two thrill seekers are paying SpaceX a sizable amount of money to make a weeklong trip around the moon next year. CEO Elon Musk wouldn't say how much was paid. But for the sake of comparison, the Russian government charged upward of $20 million for a trip to the International Space Station. If it happens, it'll be the first time humans will travel past low Earth orbit since the last Apollo mission in 1972. Low-earth orbit is essentially the first rung on the ladder to being in space. It's also where some satellites that circle the Earth reside. Bomb threats were called into Jewish community centers and day schools in at least 12 states yesterday. This is the fifth wave of bomb threats targeting Jewish community centers across the US and Canada since the year began. North Korean leader Kim Jong Un was so furious that five senior-level officials had lied to him that he apparently had them executed by anti-aircraft guns. Kim has long used executions as way to tighten his hold on power. In his five years, more than 300 people have reportedly been killed.
