Tuesday 19th November to Tuesday 10th December 2019 Mitsui & Co. (Australia) Ltd. invites university students to help promote mutual understanding and friendship between Australia and Japan by taking part in the 2019 Mitsui Educational Foundation Study Tour of Japan. Tuesday 19th November to Tuesday 10th December 2019 The 21 day study tour will take Australian university students through various regions of Japan, providing opportunities to learn about Japanese culture, society, business & industry, as well as participate in a number of people‑to‑people exchanges. All airfares, transport, meals and accommodation will be met by the Mitsui Educational Foundation. To find out more about applying for this opportunity please contact your university representative/department. 2018 participants said: "As I reflect upon my incredible experience, I realise that my best souvenir from this tour isn’t the magnets, postcards or photos that I took. It is the remarkable relationships and friendships I formed, the new-found knowledge from experiences and the all-encompassing cultural immersion. Yet, perhaps most importantly, this tour serves as a timely reminder of the possibilities that are out there and the need to be bold and open-minded to seize those that are once in a lifetime.“ "The MEF study tour provided an immersion into Japan like no other. With a travel itinerary that has been honed over the last (almost) half century by Mitsui & Co., we were provided with a unique insight into Japanese life through many lenses including the traditional culture, the fascinating international relations, the beautiful art and stark contrast from natural landscapes to the bustling city streets.“ "The three weeks that I spent in Japan were three of the best weeks of my life. Not only did I get to explore and learn about the Japanese people, places, culture, businesses and relationships; but I got to do it with a group of amazing students.“ "Through MEF we were able to explore Japan to a greater depth than any of us could do individually on self-arranged trips and for that we are eternally grateful. The excitement now lies in using this new-found level of knowledge and understanding about Japan in our future careers and day-to-day living. The lessons that were taught and the values that were imbued far exceeded my expectations. I am proud to now be an MEF Ambassador, and can’t wait to utilise all that I have gained from this trip in my future career pathway." Sponsored by Mitsui & Co. (Australia) Ltd.
