Life in Jamestown and Maryland Outcomes: At the end of this lesson, students will be able to compare and contrast colonial Virginia to colonial Maryland by hypothesizing about why people came/did not come

Motivation/Warm-up Identify reasons people left Europe/England to travel to the New World.

Guided Practice Distribute “Position of the first 3 groups of settlers in Virginia” Examine the list of settlers who came to Virginia and hypothesize/infer about why certain individuals came/did not come
