1. iridescent- having a colorful or lustrous appearance. 2. hysterical- uncontrollably emotional. 3. authoritative- showing confidence or the expectation of being obeyed.

4. resignation- reluctant acceptance of something. 5. desolation- feeling or being alone, solitary, without hope, joyless. 6. hospitality- the friendly reception and treatment of guests and strangers.

7. frivolous- lacking any serious purpose or substance. 8. commotion- a noisy disturbance. 9. enrich- enhancing the quality of something; to add greater value or significance to something.

10. croon- to sing or murmur something in a soft, low voice. 11. mystify- to puzzle or confuse somebody. 12. ordeal- a very difficult experience lasting a long time.
