Process and local learning SAF 2015 Process and local learning Jackie Collins

SAF Process 2015 No local data collection Detailed national data will be developed by PHE from GP and HSCIC data, available early 2016 Data will include anonymised CCG level information Areas expected to have locality improvement planning meeting by end February Expert task and finish group will agree a format for future SAF from 2016 New framework to be launched April 2016

Background to peer review/local learning Not much evidence of rigorous peer review in South region for 2014 SAF Peer review across London would support the region to identify areas for improvement, enable local learning and sharing of good practice

Peer reviews Inclusion North commissioned to carry out peer reviews in 2013 and 2014 Moderation and feedback exercise (not validation) Inclusion North carried out pre-peer review of all SAF’s and gave feedback Workshop held where each group looked at another return (Year 1 anonymised) Aim to identify good practice, agree what’s acceptable RAG evidence and what is just routine

Workshop Workshop held approx 10 days before submission Not successful in making workshop an inclusive event with service users and family carers Some regions brought co-chairs of LDPB to workshop Honesty that didn’t have capacity to make SAF accessible (query if that is possible anyway)

Workshop (2) Outcome of workshop: Identify ‘striking’ or surprising results Reflection/peer improvement and support Key messages to take back to each area Opportunity for areas to give feedback on SAF itself Regional actions agreed

Cost of peer review Facilitation costs for Inclusion North - £6000 Venue costs? Expenses for attendance/participation by service users and family carers?
