Why Does God Allow Trials?

Why Does God Allow Trials? “For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.” –Galatians 6:8 “Have you not brought this on yourself, In that you have forsaken the Lord your God When He led you in the way?” – Jeremiah 2:17

Why Does God Allow Trials? “Your ways and your doings Have procured these things for you. This is your wickedness, Because it is bitter, Because it reaches to your heart.”– Jeremiah 4:18 SOLUTION: “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” – 2 Chronicles 7:14

Why Does God Allow Trials? The first mention of pain can be found in Genesis God declared to Eve after she disobeyed his word that the result “will greatly multiply your sorrow and your conception; In pain you shall bring forth children;” –Genesis 3:16

Why Does God Allow Trials? Pain arises from wrong actions Everyone’s pain and suffering arises from their ignorance of natural law. Whoever can control their natural instincts, say, “7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. 8 For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.” –Galatians 6:7-8

Why Does God Allow Trials? Some people experience pain from natural disasters “2 And Jesus answered and said to them, “Do you suppose that these Galileans were worse sinners than all other Galileans, because they suffered such things? 3 I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish” –Luke 13:2-3

Why Does God Allow Trials? “Or those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them, do you think that they were worse sinners than all other men who dwelt in Jerusalem? 5 I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish.” –Luke 13:4-5

Why Does God Allow Trials? “2 And His disciples asked Him, saying, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?”3 Jesus answered, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him.” –John 9:2-3

Why Does God Allow Trials? Jesus denied the idea that natural disasters are a result of our sins. They are not responsible for these natural disasters.

Why Does God Allow Trials? Trials come from the power of evil people “You are of purer eyes than to behold evil, And cannot look on wickedness. Why do You look on those who deal treacherously, And hold Your tongue when the wicked devours A person more righteous than he?” –Habakkuk 1:13

Why Does God Allow Trials? 5 Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass. 6 He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, And your justice as the noonday. 7 Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass. 8 Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; Do not fret—it only causes harm. 9 For evildoers shall be cut off; But those who wait on the Lord, They shall inherit the earth. 10 For yet a little while and the wicked shall be no more; Indeed, you will look carefully for his place, But it shall be no more. 11 But the meek shall inherit the earth, And shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace. 12 The wicked plots against the just, And gnashes at him with his teeth. –Psalm 37:5-12

Why Does God Allow Trials? SOLUTION: “Their sword shall enter their own heart, And their bows shall be broken.” –Psalm 37:5-12

Why Does God Allow Trials? Some people’s pain is a result of God’s treatment of for our deviation from his word  ”You should know in your heart that as a man chastens his son, so the Lord your God chastens you.” –Deuteronomy 8:5

Why Does God Allow Trials?  ”6 For whom the Lord loves He chastens, And scourges every son whom He receives.”7 If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom a father does not chasten? 8 But if you are without chastening, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate and not sons. Furthermore, we have had human fathers who corrected us, and we paid them respect. Shall we not much more readily be in subjection to the Father of spirits and live? 10 For they indeed for a few days chastened us as seemed best to them, but He for our profit, that we may be partakers of His holiness. 11 Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.12 Therefore strengthen the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees, 13 and make straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame may not be dislocated, but rather be healed.” –Hebrews 12:6-12

Why Does God Allow Trials? For example, Jonah the Prophet. “Then Jonah prayed to the Lord his God from the fish’s belly. 2 And he said: “I cried out to the Lord because of my affliction, And He answered me. “Out of the belly of Sheol I cried, And You heard my voice.” –Jonah 2:1-2

Why Does God Allow Trials? Another example is Manasseh the King “12 Now when he was in affliction, he implored the Lord his God, and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers, 13 and prayed to Him; and He received his entreaty, heard his supplication, and brought him back to Jerusalem into his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that the Lord was God.” –2 Chronicles 33:12-13

Why Does God Allow Trials? A third example is Nebuchadnezzar “And they shall drive you from men, and your dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field. They shall make you eat grass like oxen; and seven times shall pass over you, until you know that the Most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomever He chooses.” –Daniel 4:32

Why Does God Allow Trials? Result of God’s Love: “And at the end of the time I, Nebuchadnezzar, lifted my eyes to heaven, and my understanding returned to me; and I blessed the Most High and praised and honored Him who lives forever: For His dominion is an everlasting dominion, And His kingdom is from generation to generation.” –Daniel 4:34

Why Does God Allow Trials? “He will sit as a refiner and a purifier of silver; He will purify the sons of Levi, And purge them as gold and silver, That they may offer to the Lord An offering in righteousness.” –Malachi 3:3 “But He knows the way that I take; When He has tested me, I shall come forth as gold.” –Job 23:10

Why Does God Allow Trials? Some pain is a subjection of Jesus “If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you.” -John 15:18 “Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.” -2 Timothy 3:12 “We must through many tribulations enter the kingdom of God.” –Acts 13:22 “knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.” -James 1:3

Why Does God Allow Trials? SOLUTION: “rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer;” –Romans 12:12 “But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.” -1 Peter 5:10 “Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” -2 Corinthians 12:10
