A pupilometer is an instrument that: In humans, the size of the pupil is controlled by involuntary constriction and dilation of the iris in order to regulate the intensity of light entering the eye. In normal room light, a healthy human pupil has a diameter of about 3-4 millimeters, in bright light, the pupil has a diameter of about 1.5 millimeters, and in dim light the diameter is enlarged to about 8 millimeters. A pupilometer is an instrument that: measures the distance between pupils measures the pupil's response to visual stimuli

Our prototype measures the diameter of the pupil under light stimulation. The diameter changes by a reaction of 3 different wave lengths (red, green and blue) projected on the eye. The diameter of the pupil is recorded by a video camera in periods of 20 seconds, in other words, the recording procedure involves 20 seconds recording on red, 20 second on eye resting, 20 seconds recording on green, 20 seconds on eye resting and 20 seconds recording on blue. The information recorded is then processed by a software that will display the graphics of the different reactions. green red blue camera eye Printed results computer

Some human diseases affect the pupil reaction under stimulation Some human diseases affect the pupil reaction under stimulation. A good way to detect them in advance is by implementing an instrument for measuring that reaction, for this prototype, the diameter of the pupil. The main objective of the prototype is to provide to medical specialists another way to detect diseases in advance and, by the information acquired, implement a medical treatment. The prototype has some stages. System calibration and software programming. Testing on patients with myopia, astigmatism and over healthy patients. Testing on diabetic patients Creating a more friendly instrument Implement the prototype on babies in order of prevent diseases.

Business plan For a service We can offer the service of doing a complete study of the pupil reaction under RGB color stimulation. The service can be bought for private clinics and private hospitals. b) For a product Sell the product to all the regional hospitals on the district. Give training to the medical staff in order to properly use the product and give maintenance of the product.

This is the biggest market where or product is focused on. Over 300 babies are born in the state, Medical Specialists believe that many diseases on babies can be prevent by studying the pupil reaction under different stimulations. This is the biggest market where or product is focused on. The Regional Hospital in Leon has a medical research group, but they cannot develop a Technical product, that’s why it is a good opportunity to have a collaboration with them (for supporting the project). Diameter In mm Time Pupil reaction under white light stimulation in a) healthy patient and b) diabetic patient. The reaction is recorded in a random period of time and only the diameter changes are reported.
