Don’t Leave Anything Behind Passengers normally want to get off the plane as soon as possible after landing. Therefore, they often accidentally leave their personal belongings behind on the plane. They might forget small items such as books, pens, or eyeglasses in the pocket in front of the seat. To return these objects to their owners, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines has come up with an excellent idea: beagles. These animals have an excellent sense of smell and can find lost items and trace them back to their owners. They carry the lost property on their backs, if the items are small enough. Then, they find the owner by tracing an invisible trail of scent. Passengers are pleasantly surprised when they not only get their lost items back, but also see how the items were delivered to them!
