What is the Carnegie Community Engagement Classification? Prestigious classification that demonstrates an institution’s commitment to partnering with the community. Requires documentation of an institution’s activities, policies, culture, and commitments.
What Does Carnegie Mean by Community Engagement? Collaboration between institutions of higher education and their larger communities (local, regional/state, national, global) for the mutually beneficial exchange of knowledge and resources in a context of partnership and reciprocity.
