Leaving and Returning On Wednesday 1st May children need to arrive in school between 9:30-9:45am. (Via the car park entrance and straight into the hall) The coach will be leaving at 10:30am. We leave at 1.15pm on the 3rd May and expect to be back at school by the end of the school day. Should we be delayed, you will be informed via parentmail.

Sleeping Arrangements Comfortable dormitories that sleep 2 to 16 pupils. Kingswood have not yet confirmed our dorm allocation however after the Easter break the children will be asked to choose 2 friends that would like to share with. Medication Any medication other that Calpol will need to be provided by you. Any medication will need to be secured in a box clearly labelled with your child’s name, dosage, when and how it should be taken and how it needs to be stored. This needs to be handed into an Mrs Hollands or Mrs Place on the morning of travelling. Do not forget to pack a travel sickness tablet for the return journey!

What does my child need to bring? Clothing and shoes worn outside during activities will inevitably get dirty – so old clothes are best! We try to help children look after their things, but items regularly get lost or left behind. We therefore strongly recommend that you name all items of clothing. The weather can be unpredictable in May so we would suggest that you pack a mix of long and short sleeve tops/sweatshirts, leggings or tracksuit bottoms and a few pairs of shorts. Socks need to be plentiful as the children will take part in the activities regardless of the weather and may get wet. At least two pairs of trainers are advised – one old pair that can get wet/muddy and a pair for evening activities.

Suggested Packing List-from Kingswood Please use the following checklist to help pack bags: (please put your child’s name on all items of clothing) One bath towel Toiletries bag containing: toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, shower gel, hairbrush etc Night clothes Socks and underwear T-shirts (a mix of long and short sleeve), sweatshirt s– some activities do require long sleeve/legged clothing Leggings/tracksuit bottoms, shorts and jeans for evening activities Waterproof jacket like a cagoule An old pair of trainers A pair of trainers for the evening Large plastic bag for dirty clothes Water bottle Sun hat Sunscreen

Pocket Money All children’s needs are catered for but every Kingswood centre does have a shop where children can by postcards, pencils and souvenirs. £5 spending money was factored into the final cost of the visit. We would ask that children do not bring any additional money with them – they will be given their £5 before going into the shop.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Please ensure that your child does not bring any electronic devices with them. Staff cannot take responsibility for lost mobile phones or tablets. Communication will be via the school website and parent mail. Please ensure your child brings a water bottle as they will move around the site to different activates throughout the day. Whilst we appreciate that the children will want to bring treats we ask that this is minimised to one small bag of sweets (no nuts please). The children will have three meals a day which include a desert so we discourage too many sugary snacks.

WHAT TO DO NEXT Complete the medical, dietary and email forms and return to the school office. Arrange to meet with your child’s class teacher if you feel there are factors that need to be shared. Ensure that you pay the final balance of the residential by Friday 5th April 2019 https://www.kingswood.co.uk/assets/Uploads/Downloads/Parents/KW-Parents- guide.pdf
