Ecology EOC Review Unit 10

Food Webs Which way do the arrows point? Draw a food web: Fox eats mice and rabbits Rabbits eat grass Mice eat grass and insects Insects eat grass Hawks eat mice

Energy Interactions How much energy is available in each level?

Community interactions Symbiosis ANY type of interactions between species in a community!

Community interactions Commensalism One benefits…the other is neither benefited nor harmed.

Community Interactions Mutualism Both benefit

Community Interactions Parasitism One benefits, the other is harmed

Community Interactions Predation One eats another….

Human Impact How do we impact the environment?

Human Impact Why does that matter?

Carrying Capacity What is it?

Common Graphs

Common Graphs

Animals are dumb, if the environment changes the population will decrease Do not think of your human qualities when answering questions. Most animals can NOT travel several miles to find a new home. If a species like salmon or turtles have their spawning grounds disrupted they wont find another one. Animals are NOT logical thinkers

What happens if? The producer in an ecosystem decrease or are wiped out? The Primary consumers in an ecosystem decrease or are wiped out? To the producers, to the secondary consumers?
