Change of Auditors Our current audit firm is large and is seeking to focus on larger clients Trustees consider VCC will be best supported by an audit firm that is used to dealing with organisations of a similar size Trustees recommend Price Bailey be appointed as auditor Best fit and cost amongst 3 firms interviewed Current provider to Hammersmith & Fulham Volunteer Centre
Why are we changing our Governing Documentation? Volunteer Centre Camden (Legal Entity: Camden Volunteer Bureau) has not refreshed its Governing Documentation in a long time We are missing sections on Conflict of Interest, Management of Trustees, and General Procedures. We have managed these through Policy, but it is not an efficient/Best Practice approach. We have carried out a review: Document type – Change from ‘Constitution’ to ‘Articles of Association’ Members & Trustees – change for Trustees to be Members to enable more efficient and effective governance that reflects how VCC operates
Volunteer Centre Camden Strategy Grow and develop position as the key agency for individuals, voluntary sector organisations and businesses around volunteering Develop 3 income streams that support our mission and purpose: Volunteer brokerage for Camden and expand volunteering projects to support isolated and disadvantaged Camden residents Broker corporate volunteering and support to Camden voluntary and community organisations and local residents (Team UP) Further employability work, helping local people to gain employment through volunteering – developing skills, experience, confidence and social and professional networks Harness the knowledge and experience of the fantastic team of VCC staff and volunteers
Team UP Launch New service helping businesses to Team UP with Camden voluntary sector organisations Businesses can provide needed resources and expertise to voluntary and community organisations: Volunteers, Materials & Equipment, Money Camden has not yet unlocked the maximum potential of businesses supporting the local community. Team UP will leverage the growing number of businesses to support local people and organisations. Team UP will promote your team volunteering opportunities to businesses and help you develop new ones Team UP can provide a full brokerage and facilitated service, organising the event and ordering any equipment/materials Team UP operates in a not-for-profit way, charging businesses to cover our costs of supporting them, i.e. to be sustainable
