Key Message: Get it right first time MCCD If you have completed the MCCD correctly… The deceased's family takes the MCCD to Registrars within 5 days of death The death is registered and a formal death certificate is issued If you have completed the MCCD incorrectly… The Registrar refuses to register the death No death certificate Upset relatives Cancelled funerals Possible post-mortem examination Complaints Coroner’s Investigation which may include an Inquest Key Message: Get it right first time
