60th Annual Corporate Challenge & Winter Carnival This race was initially established in 1959 as a friendly competition between GE sites and businesses. As General Electric has changed over the years some of the participating sites are now part of different companies. The competition, however, remains the same (relaxed and friendly). We will be racing at Pico (right down the road from Killington) and where the race began. As always, the race is an open Giant Slalom event. The race is open to employees and retirees of General Electric, Lockheed Martin, General Dynamic or any subsidiary plus their spouses and offspring, or a guest. Contract workers for these sites and their families are also able to participate. Children 6 and under ski for free, and all under 18 win a Medal for racing. Adults category awards are sorted by age group and sliding type (skiing or snowboard) Every racer receives a custom designed T Shirt (if signed up by 2/22) and a ticket to the Après Ski BBQ and awards Party which begins at 4. At the Pico Winter carnival they will have vouchers for waffles and vouchers for lunch in addition to the BBQ & awards party that begins at 4pm. They are planning volleyball, sled races, snowman contest and some ice sculptures with colored ice cubes. In addition there will be a prize wheel to spin at various opportunities during the day for prizes. In the morning, bus will drop off at Pico first then Killington. In the evening, bus will pickup at Killington then Pico at 6:00pm before returning home. Free shuttle service to/from Killington/Pico every 30 minutes from 8 – 4pm, every hour after that. All bus riders must be back at Pico by 5:45pm for bus departure. Après ski dinner & awards party begins at ~4:00pm and ends at ~5:45pm at Pico so plan accordingly. Registration is from 7:30am-9am in the Sunshine Room (basement of Pico Lodge) Race starts at 10am – second run back to back no reset.
