Talking Circles

What is a talking circle? Discuss your thoughts with your group

What is a talking circle? - It is a traditional way for Native American people to solve problems. It is a very effective way to remove barriers and to allow people to express themselves with complete freedom - a way to for all voices to be heard in a respectful manner -traditionally is done in a circle and you go around and each person gets a turn. It also can be done by raising your hand

Who uses talking circles? Discuss as a group Each group will give an answer

Talking Circles are used by... Aboriginals - culturally they still do this Classrooms Counselors Corporate businesses adapt this model as well Drama/stage productions Summer camps

Who can speak with the talking stick?

Who can speak with the talking stick? The person who has the talking stick can talk If you want it you have to wait for the person to finish speaking then raise your hand and ask for it
