Public vs. Private Public:

Public vs. Private Private:

Student Achievement First year of multi-year results 2015 assessment results PLUS 2016 assessment results Next year will move to: 2015 + 2016 + 2017 results Current year results still available Participation still based only on current year Will remain under ESSA report cards Point structures will change

Annual Measurable Objectives What are they? Proficiency goals required under the waiver (replaced AYP). Reduce the % nonproficent by half over six years. Why have I never seen them before? They’ve been there; this is the first year we have performance against the goals. Why should I care? Give schools and districts a benchmark Implications for Blue Ribbon and Focus and Priority Schools Will be retained under ESSA

Participation What’s required? What if I don’t meet that? 95% (or no more than two students) What if I don’t meet that? School Level: All Students – take away SPI Points School Level: Subgroups – messaging District Level: messaging All levels: improvement plan All levels: possible loss of Title I funds Are Opt-Outs Allowed? No.

Student Growth Percentiles - Explained Academic Growth Student Growth Percentiles - Explained What are SGPs? Indicators of student growth: test scores compared with scores of students with similar score histories (academic peers). What can SGPs tell us about student growth? How much a student grew, relative to her academic peers. A student with an SGP of 65 performed better than 65% of her academic peers.
