Law of Conservation of Energy When energy changes from one form to another, no energy is created or destroyed “Energy cannot be created or destroyed, only changed”

In ideal situations, we usually say no energy is wasted Mechanical energy always stays the same In reality, energy is needed to overcome friction Turns into thermal energy and sound

Thermal Energy Total kinetic and potential energy of the atoms or molecules of a substance Depends on the mass, temperature and state of a substance
