Answer these questions. What is drama? What is the key difference between drama and other types of fiction? What do you call the author of a drama? How does an author develop character? (4 ways)

1) What is drama? Drama is a story told in dialogue by performers in front of an audience.

2) What is the key difference between drama and other types of literature? Drama is written to be performed. Drama uses dramatic speech to move the story’s actions. Other literature will have more narration to move the story’s action. It is not written to be performed.

What do you call the author of a drama? An author of a drama is called a PLAYWRIGHT.

How does an author develop character? 1) what the character says and does, 2) what the character feels and thinks, 3) what other characters say about a character, 4) and what the narrator tells the audience directly.
