SCIENCE , TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING, ARTS & MATHS What is STEAM? STEAM is a curriculum based on the idea of educating students in five specific disciplines — science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics — in an interdisciplinary and applied approach. Rather than teach the five disciplines as separate and discrete subjects, STEAM integrates them into a cohesive learning paradigm based on real-world applications. VISION To set up a STEAM and innovation center in every community in Africa MISSION To transform the minds of young change makers through STEAM as an educational approach to learning for guiding student inquiry, dialogue, and critical thinking.

ABOUT US Steam Africa Initiative is a Non-Profit organisation born out of the need to add value to the educational sector in Nigeria and Africa in Children and Youths between the ages of 3-18 through STEAM based curriculum. STEAM is critical for the future. The world needs critical thinkers, doers , and problem solvers. The world need kids who understand science , who can adapt to the latest technology and engineer new solutions to solve problems of all sizes. STEAM creates inventors, innovators and leaders. An evolution has to take place in our educational system to transform our Nation from a consuming economy to an industrialised producing economy. These are skills that need to be imbibed from the foundation so we can get rid of the entitlement mentality by understanding the Science Technology Engineering Art and Maths behind everything we do and how it all comes together. The cars, phones, buildings, fans, television sets , the food we eat, our clothes everything is infused under STEAM, it surrounds us everyday.

“That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind”-Neil Armstrong

CORE VALUES Discovery: We explore new talents and concepts. Innovation: With our imagination, ingenuity and diligence we solve 21st century problems Impression:  We use what we discover to enhance our world. Inclusion: We respect one another and embrace our differences. Teamwork: By working together we can reach the stars. Fun: Learning in an exciting and hands-on way

The Need For STEAM Our kids thrive with STEAM activities. Whether it be in it’s successes or failures, kids are pushed to expand their horizons, experiment, solve problems and accept failure as a means to success. STEAM subjects are key areas in building knowledge and shaping the future of young kids. They are taught amazing concepts , also love for exploring , discovering , learning and creating are built.
