What is a Strategic Plan and Why is it Important? Strategic planning is an activity that is used to set priorities, focus energy and resources, strengthen club operations, ensure that everyone is working toward common goals, establish agreement around intended outcomes/results, and assess and adjust the club’s direction. Your planning efforts should produce fundamental decisions and actions that shape and guide what your club. Effective strategic planning will help your club determine where you are going and the actions needed to make progress, it will also help you measure success.
