Fox Class News 1.2.19 Happy February everyone! This half term is really whizzing by, we have all been so busy. In Reception the children have been enjoying our Superhero topic. This week we have been finding out about our ‘real life’ superheroes - firefighters. We went on a hunt around the school spotting fire safety signs, then we made some great signs for our own classroom. Next week we will be finding out about the police and what they do to keep us safe. We have a special visitor, PC Skeggs coming into our class to talk to us and we will be taking part in some fun activities. In maths this week we have be exploring weight and weighing lots of things around the classroom. For your home learning this week can you find something light, something heavy and two things that weigh the same? Post your findings onto Tapestry and we can share them next week! On Friday we will be visiting Long Melford Library again, if any parents are free to help, please let us know. In the Nursery we have been doing lots of cooking. We have been reading the Gruffalo story, and made Gruffalo Crumble, although we used fruit instead of Gruffalos! We also made a cake, carefully weighing out the ingredients and mixing it all together. Next week we are going to be looking at pairs of different objects, including the animals going in two by two into Noah's Ark – can you find something that comes as a pair? Perhaps you could post your investigations onto Tapestry for us all to share. We will also be finding out how Pizzas are made after some children ate pizza for lunch today!
