One Body

There are as many Bodies as there are Lords & Gods! What is the BODY? Ephesians 1:22,23 “The church which is His Body” “Body” in Ephesians 4 = The Church As Many Lords, Faiths, Baptisms & Gods ONLY ONE!

“Church” Used in Two Ways in the New Testament Universal Sense – Matthew 16:18 “I will build My church” Local Sense – Romans 16:16 “churches of Christ greet you” ONE BODY – Universal Sense What makes up the ONE BODY? 1 Corinthians 12:27 -members individually Individual Members – People

How Can We Identify Those Who Are Part of The One Body? Only Claim to part of the church whose: HEAD IS CHRIST – Colossians 1:18 &24 Ephesians 1:22,23 How many “Heads” should a body have? ONE How many churches is Christ the Head of? SAVIOUR IS CHRIST- Ephesians 5:23

The “ONE BODY” Can Be Identified by such things as: ITS STRUCTURE – “the whole body of Christians scattered throughout the earth” ONLY Organizational Structure in The New Testament of the church is LOCALLY – Acts 14:23 “elders in every church” ITS NAME - Acts 11:26; Romans 16:16; Acts 20:28; Ephesians 5:23

The “ONE BODY” Can Be Identified by such things as: ITS DOCTRINE – John Chapter 17 Jesus prayed for unity 2 John 9 “does not abide in the doctrine of Christ” Galatians 1:6-9 “pervert the gospel of Christ” Honors ONLY the WORD OF GOD as FINAL AUTHORITY in matters of FAITH & PRACTICE

The “ONE BODY” Can Be Identified by such things as: TERMS OF ADMISSION – Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 16:15,16; Acts 17:30; Romans 10:9,10 ARE YOU A MEMBER OF THE ONE BODY? Faithful Christians Cast Their Lots with One Another in the area where they Live, and work harmoniously for the Cause of Christ.
