Time set aside in registration or lessons for pupils to read a book In a Triple Literacy booklet, pupils write words they dont know, and then French and Welsh equivalents. Pupils then challenged to use these new words in future lessons

Pupils are given a list of words that show some of the spelling sounds they will encounter in French. Incorporated as and when similar words arise during lessons Pupils more able and confident to read aloud in class

Always an issue Pupils provided Know your Grammar sheets that help them with their written work Pupils have easier understanding of Grammatical structures across the three languages

Pupils have greater awareness of cognates Able to use dictionaries for much more independent work More confident - even at lower end – of reading aloud in class
