School Strategic Planning 2022 OUR GOAL IS TO PREPARE ALL STUDENTS TO GRADUATE READY TO PURSUE AND SUCCEED ON THEIR CHOSEN PATHS. School Strategic Planning 2022 Scott Hetherington- Director, School Governance & Flexibility

School Governance and Strategic Planning 2012-2017 2017- 2022 Previous School Governance and strategic planning was established by: Schools creating plans in 3 cohorts Not necessarily created along feeder or cluster. Trainings and supports were designed to establish and create the charter system and SGC’s. School Governance and strategic planning 2.0 is characterized by:  All schools created plans at the same time. 15 Cross Council sessions and School Planning sessions were strategically grouped by feeder pattern to create more cluster alignment Emphasis on trainings and support for council members and principals aligned to the SGC Standards of Effectiveness and Strategic Plans. District goal   School plans How are SGCs important? How did we involve various members of the council to address unique challenges for the school? Establish a charter system, strat planning done in cohorts…

West Elementary School 3rd grade literacy: 85% of 3rd grade students will read at or above grade level Climate and Culture: Increase to and maintain a 5 star climate rating Partnerships: Increase the number of impactful partnerships that align to our school’s goals Transparent and Efficient Management of Local Funds Reduce the number of audit findings for Student Activity funds and ensure effective management between schools and Student Governance Councils Outcomes: What will success look like for our school? 5th grade math: 85% of 5th grade students will perform at proficient or distinguished levels in math Community Engagement Increase the percentage of families who would recommend EC West Family Engagement: Increase the percentage of families who feel empowered to support their student’s educational journeys Balanced Literacy Framework: Implement literacy instruction that includes a progression of teacher modeling, guided practice, and student independent learning Stellar Customer Service: Work to create a culture where families, students, and staff feel welcomed and appreciated Campbell Community Champions: cultivate and sustain community champions to support student outcomes Effective Budgeting: Refine and adjust our modified zero-based budgeting process to ensure that resources ae used effectively and efficiently to impact district goals. Initiatives: What will we do to achieve success? Balanced Math Framework: Implement math instruction that helps students build the computational and conceptual skills needed to solve complex problems Positive Communication: Standardized press releases to the community about the great people and culture at E.C. West Parent University: Offer Courses and activities to equip families with knowledge, skills, and resources

Standards Mastery Framework Professional Development: train a group of administrators who will redeliver content to the whole faculty Implement iRead and iReady software with fidelity Teachers use the Standards Mastery Framework to identify a student’s proficiency level for each prioritized standard in Reading Increase percentage of students scoring on level on iRead. 3rd grade literacy: 85% of 3rd grade students will read at or above grade level Balanced Literacy Framework Standards Mastery Framework Professional Development: train a group of administrators who will redeliver content to the whole faculty Implement cross-curricular STEM focused units 100% of teachers will complete SMF professional development Each grade level will implement two cross-curricular STEM focused units during the year 5th grade math: 85% of 5th grade students will perform at proficient or distinguished levels in math Balanced Math Framework Strategic Plan: [School Name] 7

School Governance Council Standards of Effectiveness Summer Governance Institute School Governance 2022 Clarity- Act strategically and monitor progress Culture- Build and maintain a high functioning council Communication- Inform, engage, and invest stakeholders Convening of governance members in late July Conference style workshop to begin the year discussing strategic plans, budget monitoring, leadership, and shared governance Kick off for district initiative framework for training and coaching School Governance Council standards of effectiveness, 93 school strategic plans, and the inaugural Governance Institute provide the foundation for all trainings, coaching, and supports provided to SGC members and principals as Fulton moves to the goals of Strategic Plan 2022.
