Motion PowerPoint By Mr. Krall 2011

What is Motion? Motion is when an object changes position. When an object goes from one place to another, it has moved.

Things to think about: Motion has a direction. (up, down, right, left, north, south, backwards, towards, etc.) The rate of motion can be measured. (speed, acceleration)

Motion Slides In the slides that follow, objects will be shown at different times. Your goal is to figure out: What’s moving and what isn’t? How can you describe the motion?

Question time: What moved? What frames of reference did you use? What direction did the moving object move in? Let’s see that again.

Here’s another one.

Question time: What moved? What frames of reference did you use? What direction(s) did the moving object(s) move in? Let’s see that again.

Here’s another one.

I did not see that coming.

Um… yeah Just remember: Motion is when an object changes position. Motion can be described using directions and frames of reference Motion can be measured using speed, and acceleration.
