The 10 Most Common Excuses for NOT Going to College and Why They’re All Wrong By: Ivonne Ojeda, Kaylynn Sutherland, Josue Villegas, Jaelen Gibbs, Bryan Chuc

What is this article about? The author states a claim that any individual is capable to get into a college without any excuses. He/She goes further in depth by explaining that common excuses such as economic status, grades or time can all be solved through various answers given by the author.

What is the author’s opinion of the topic? Summarize his/her argument. The author believes that people shouldn’t make excuses about why they can’t attend college. The excuses aren’t valid because people overcome several obstacles such as not having enough money, having average grades, not knowing where to apply and feeling excluded in an unknown environment.

Share out 4 important points the author makes. College is affordable no matter the circumstances. Having a family tradition such as not going to college, should be broken instead of being kept. Grades aren’t the only factor in order to be accepted into a college, but also takes into account the character of the student as well. Even if an individual has no idea to what they want to major in or do with their life. Colleges over a plethora of majors and classes that will suit you perfectly eventually.

As a group, do you agree or disagree with the author? Explain. As a group, we agree with this author because there is no excuse on why we should not go to college. College is a great experience and a great opportunity to become successful and have an easier way to have a successful future.
