Language Arts – Warm Up 12/13/17 Proper and Common Nouns Complete the first page of your packet using the tips below: Proper nouns are capitalized. They name a special person, place or thing. Examples: Walgreens, Floyd Middle School, Peter Pan. Common nouns are not capitalized. They name a common person, place or thing. Examples: dogs, stores, desks Then, finish the back side of the first page.

Language Arts – Work Session 12/13/17 Essential Questions: How can talking and working with others help one analyze a novel? How do internal and external forces help people grow? Standard: ELASE6RL3 – Describe how a particular story’s or drama’s plot unfolds in a series of episodes as well as how the characters respond or change as the plot moves toward a resolution. Learning Targets: Define the concept of change through the reading of a narrative. Apply understanding of narrative elements to reading and writing.

Language Arts – Work Session 12/13/17 Topic Sentences Assesesment Review questions 14-20. Did you make any mistakes? Use the tips below to correct any possible mistakes and resubmit your assessment to me today. Did you write a topic sentence? DO NOT respond to the question! Also, DO NOT write a question! Example: #14 – What is the best pet? You were supposed to write a sentence based on this TOPIC. The best pet is________________. See how easy that is? Now, go back and correct any mistakes for #14-20. If you finish early, finish working on your “Making Inferences” sheet from yesterday and/or the first page (front and back) of today’s noun packet.

Language Arts – Closing Session 12/13/17 Independent Reading You should be on your FIFTH book of this school year, at least. Your next Biblionasium book review will be due Friday, January 26, 2018. Be sure that you have completed your book before Friday, January 26, 2018! Homework: Front & Back of the first page of your noun packet
