Time to Paint! Pick up your cut out name Pick up your cardboard and hand Pick up your blank cardboard(if you need one it’s okay, ask for one) Please sit at your seat with those three things If you are not done with the hand, you will be multitasking today to get it done, so we can turn those in – thanks!

You will need… Ice cube tray with paint in it Yellow, red, blue, white, green Slightly wet rag Paper on top of your table(to keep it clean) One brush! A palette knife Water container, with water in it Everything is on the back counter help yourself!

Painting Try not to leave your seat Paint along, but make it your own Pay attention to mixing colors Use only one brush Mix colors on extra piece of cardboard or on your painting

Extra Time If we are done early, you will have time to finish your hand project and turn it in –or- start working on your name mandala If you don’t have enough time in class, consider it as home work

Painting! Start with a sky Use blue at the top and blend down to a lighter blue

Clouds

Horizon Line Give your self a horizon line about a 1/3 or 2/3 down the page(to go by the rule of thirds) Start drawing your trees using this horizon line

Trees! Darks to light

Add in grass Add in grass and other things that you would like to add to the foreground

Examples

Clean Up Leave the painting on your desk to dry Clean off brush (with soap and water) and put bristles up in the blue containers on the tables Rinse out the ice cube tray and let dry on the counter

Extra Time Finish hand drawings 5 tones of grey, blended and glued down to your cardboard with the traced and cut hands on it Turn it in the wire basket Start name mandala – pick either warm tones or cool tones for your name, paint it! Use your extra cardboard as a surface to paint on with your name mandala
