re-authoring and a few strategies Re-authoring is basically deconstructing. It allows readers to shift their previous notion, though not intervening. It’s simply repositioning; “unpacking” the given information that readers are unfamiliar with and getting to know the text from an in-role presentation. It “might mean lifting a character out of text, inserting a character based on the aforementioned qualities, and asking how this changes the authoring of the text” (p. 87). There are free-authoring strategy, disengaging words, juxtaposition on the same topic, and improvisation. So the basic and overall background is left aside when re-authoring. It simply plays out multiple possibilities and allows readers to see the world of the original text in a new way. (By inserting marginal characters, neglected plots or devalued settings, and reworking of the discourse of the text.) 4/16/2019 copyright 2006 www.brainybetty.com

copyright 2006 www.brainybetty.com Improvisation: using re-authoring outside reading texts and into our actual world. People are able to move into multiple possibilities of reconstructing of an original text through commercials or magazines. One thought that might be a little extreme is if improvisation ends up reshaping the social imagination. 4/16/2019 copyright 2006 www.brainybetty.com
