Self-immolation after forehead flap Melyssa Hancock, Steven P. Davison  JPRAS Open  Volume 10, Pages 21-27 (December 2016) DOI: 10.1016/j.jpra.2016.08.002 Copyright © 2016 The Author(s) Terms and Conditions

Figure 1 The patient sustained second and third-degree burns across the anterior aspect of the face (A, B). The wounds were dressed with silvadene with the plan for re-evaluation of the flap and possible debridement of any compromised tissue. Frontal (C) and lateral (D) views at 3 month follow-up with good functional and aesthetic results. Figure 2 The patient suffered second degree burns over the left nasal ala, left lateral wall, and left midface as well as first degree burns over the forehead (A, B). Although the forehead flap survived, complete nasal reconstruction was further delayed. Frontal (C) and lateral (D) views following healed reconstruction and resolution of the facial burns at 6 month follow-up.
