What is the World Trade Center? In the World Trade Center people traded things like money. In the World Trade Center there were seven buildings and 16 acres of land. The Twin Towers were the World Trade Center signature. The Plaza was in the center of the World Trade Center. How did the World Trade Center impact New York City? The World Trade Center impacted New York’s economy. People worked in the buildings trading and selling. These buildings provided a work and living space for people that worked for the businesses that had offices there. On September 11, 2001, the World Trade Center was destroyed by terrorists. People lost their lives, loved ones and a lot of jobs were lost. This had a terrible impact on the lives of all New Yorkers. This event changed our lives.
