EC: Health Systems Strengthening (HSS) for Universal Health Coverage (UHC) Healthy Systems - Healthy Lives (HSHL) International Health Partnership (IHP) for UHC 2030 Matthias Reinicke, European Commission DG International Cooperation & Development

Healthy Systems Healthy Lives The DE initiated and WHO supported Roadmap "Healthy Systems Healthy Lives (HSHL)", promotes HSS to achieve UHC The HSHL general policy intentions converge with many aspects of EU policies. EU supports the Roadmap HSHL as an appropriate framework for the “new IHP+”

International Health Partnership (IHP) for UHC 2030 Movement for accelerated, equitable and sustainable progress towards UHC and other health targets in the (SDGs), including global health security and equity. Steering Committee of IHP+ (chaired by WHO and World Bank) suggested transformation of IHP+(MDG era, concentrated on aid effectiveness in aid depending countries) to IHP for UHC 2030 following the acceptance of the Agenda 2030 (SDG) by UN in September 2015

International Health Partnership (IHP) for UHC 2030 wider focus on comprehensive health systems strengthening with the ultimate goal to promote progress towards UHC, while maintaining a strong focus on aid effectiveness principles. Expansion of current IHP+ members to middle income countries, new global health initiatives (such as GFF) and other organisations (CSO)

IHP for UHC 2030 -- HSHL Roadmap HSHL provides with its structure the opportunity to make IHP for UHC 2030 operational and improve its effectiveness. Intensified Action Working Group: Task Force is currently been re-established to specify the role and functions of IHP for UHC 2030 with the roadmap HSHL as the framework for IHP for UHC 2030
