Raksha Bandhan is a Hindu festival which celebrates the relationship between brothers and sisters….marked by the tying of ‘Rakhi’, a ceremonial thread tied by the sister on the right wrist of the brother.

Raksha Bandhan traces its roots to Hindu mythology- to The Tale of Krishna and Draupadi. In return to the Cloth Strip Draupadi tied to Krishna, it saved him from a great number of misfortunes.

Since then, Raksha Bandhan has been an important ceremonial custom in India. On this day, brothers and sisters exchange gifts and sweets. The sister blesses the brother with all her heart.
