Universiade Oscar 08/02/2017

Introduction Introduction A Ceremony is an act that is a kind ritual, or protocol. I think that ceremonies are important Universiade or in Olympic Games because they help to remember the beginning or the end of the games. This year I watched the opening ceremony for the 2017 Universiade in Almaty. That was my first experience of this kind and I liked it a lot. The purpose of the ceremony is to show what the host country looks like.

Torch First of all, there is a kind of parcour for the torch. It is called a torch relay in this Universiade 15 cauldrons have been sent from many cities in the country. After the Universiades are done then some people extinguish the big torch as people blow candles on a cake.

Opening Ceremony In the Opening Ceremony there are long speeches of several minutes each. In this speeches, three to four languages are used: home language, English, and French. In the Ceremony, they explain the country traditions through shows. In the Opening Ceremony they usually say what is going to happen in the next years in the country. In Almaty they most talked about the Universal Exposition that will happen during the year.

Closing Ceremony Opening and Closing Ceremonies are very similar. In Almaty, it will happen on eighth of February, 2017. The next Summer Universiade will be held in Taipei, Taiwan. And the next winter Universiades will be held in Krasnoyarsk, Russia.

Conclusion In conclusion, Opening and Closing Ceremony are kind of similar to each other. They are there to help us know when does the Universiades starts or end, and tells us what is going to happen in the host country for the next year. In the Opening Ceremony there are many speeches. The next Universiade will be summer one in Taipei, Taiwan. Finally as my dad said “ Have good Universiade in Almaty!”
