VIRUSES

What are some things that can make you sick? CLASS DISCUSSION If cells signal each other to maintain homeostasis and transport proteins in vesicles to stay healthy why do we ever get sick? What are some things that can make you sick?

SONG Virus Song with Mr. W.

VIRUSES 1- alive or not? 2– how they spread

VIRUSES A strand of hereditary material surrounded by a protein coating

7 CHARACTERISTICS OF LIVING THINGS: Made of cells Uses energy Responds to stimuli Maintains homeostasis Grows and/or develops can reproduce on their own Contains genetic material (DNA or RNA)

Receptor proteins: protein that on the outside of the cell membrane that only reacts with specific things….. What does that make it?

How does it get in….. 1. the virus binds with a receptor protein 2. It enters the cell and uses the cells ribosomes to make more protein/viruses 3. They leave the cell in a vesicle made from the cell membrane and invade other cells using the original cell’s surface markers.

SONG Virus Song with Mr. W.

2 types of virus invasion Lysogenic Lytic Explanation - Prezi

3 - ebola
