Wire is manufactured by being pulled by tapered apertures. When dragging wire mainly hot or cold rolled steel is used as the base material. During the wire drawing process dust arises, which must be removed by vacuum extraction. The dust are: -  Scale -  Grinding dust -  Draw soap (Calcium stearate and Natrium stearate) Since it may be possible that the soap dusts is flammable, the suction must be designed in accordance with ATEX guidelines to minimize the explosion risk. Wire is drawn through a draw plate and tapers.
