Deptford Station Deptfords destination status will be further enhanced with the opening of its replacement contemporary station building. This includes: - Completely new building, with stair and lift access to both platforms, a steel framework and glass facades - Improved lighting - Extended canopies on station platforms to provide better shelter - Ground-level bicycle storage - New station forecourt, created on the previously-derelict station yard. Environmental improvements to Giffin Street These works are taking place at the request of a number of residents living here. The Council has managed to secure £X.X of government funding to carry out the works. This funding does come with some strings attached; for instance, trees have had to be included. What next? The Council is in line to receive just over £1.5 million from the Mayor of London's Outer London Fund to make physical improvements to Deptford High Street, including a focus on Deptford Market.
