Museums in Northamptonshire 2015-16 13 museums in the Accreditation scheme – the National Standard for museums. 174,890 visits to museums in 2015-16. Visits down -0.9% on 2013-14. Visits to museums helped contribute £3M to the Northamptonshire economy. Inspiring learning – 15,290 participants in formal and informal learning activities and events run by museums 2015-16. Volunteering – 722 volunteers gave time in 2015-16 that contributed 104,600 hours worth over £747,000. Jobs – at least 97 people employed by museums in 2015-16. Figures based on data from 69% of museums in the Accreditation scheme and four non-Accredited museums. Data collected from the MDEM Annual Survey of Museums 2015-16.
