Introduction to Probability Amy Ard Tucker Elementary/ Champ Cooper

Never /Sometimes What does “Never or Impossible” mean? Give examples of things that never happen at school. What does “Sometimes” mean? Give examples of things that happen sometimes at school, but not often.

Likely/ Unlikely Is it likely or unlikely that today the principal will come into our class wearing a hat? Is it likely or unlikely that today you will have milk with your lunch? Is it likely or unlikely that today you teacher will have a class party? Is it likely or unlikely that today you will have recess?

Likely or Unlikely Is it likely or unlikely that you will pull an automobile? Is it likely or unlikely that a truck will be pulled? Is it likely or unlikely that a car will be pulled? Is it likely that someone will pull a black car? Is it likely that someone will pull a green car?

What color gum are you most likely to get?

Unfair Fair Fair/ Unfair Fair- Following the rules, equal chance for everyone (likely) Unfair- not an equal chance, not following the rules. Unfair Fair

Fair/ Unfair Is the spinner fair or unfair to play a game?

What is the probability of pulling a red gum ball? Likely, unlikely, equal chance, impossible
