Bacteria (prokaryotes) One celled No nucleus Example: Soil bacteria, infectious bacteria.

Protist (also called Protoctists) Most one celled Have nucleus and other cell structures Examples: algae, amoeba

Fungus Many celled (some unicellular) Cannot move Absorb nutrients from other organisms No chlorophyll Examples: mushrooms, yeast, molds

Plant Many-celled Cannot move Use energy from the sun to make sugars Examples: flowering plants, ferns, conifers

Animal Many-celled Most can move Get energy by consuming other organisms Examples: invertebrates, fish, birds, mammals
