January Newsletter Ms. Burnett/Ms.Brooks MLK Day!!!! Schools and central offices will be closed Monday January 21, 2019 in observance of the Martin Luther King Jr.. Holiday. Inclement Weather Parents, it is that time of year where the weather is completely unpredictable. For updated info about severe weather and school closings, please be sure to visit the Richmond County Board of Education website at www.rcboe.org. 100th Day of School!!!!! The 100th day of school will be Tuesday, January 22, 2019. In celebration of this day, we are asking for each student to do a project at home and to bring it to school for show and tell. Projects can be whatever you decide, but should center around the number 100. Some ideas include, but are not limited to: 100 jelly beans in a jar A collage of the number 100 100 cotton balls in a bag 100 cheerios/froot loops glued to a poster in the shape of a 100 10 sets of 10 fingers/toes on a poster Necklace with 100 beads 100 pennies $100 for the teachers Field Trips Kindergarten will be going to Storyland Theater at the end of this month to see a play. The cost of this trip is $4 for each child. Since our first trip to Steed’s Dairy was cancelled due to weather, we are planning a Spring trip to Sunny Day Farms. Those who paid for the first trip will not have to pay for this trip. New Numbers! If for any reason you happen to change numbers (cell, house, work) please be sure to provide me with an updated number so that you can be contacted if needed. School Supplies We are in need of the following supplies for our classroom: Kleenex Dry Erase Markers Glue Sticks Colored Pencils Treasure box toys/treats/trinkets Any items donated are GREATLY appreciated!!!
