Solving Division Equations Objective: Learn to solve division equations.

When solving division equations… 3 Steps: Write the equation. Find the inverse operation by multiplying the number that is being divided. 3. Don’t forget: whatever you do to one side of the equal sign, you must do to the other. Then, cancel the opposites. Write the answer. 3 × N = 9 ×3 3 N= 27

Examples: Solve: X = 5 Y = 55 4 9 9 × Y = 55 × 9 Solve: 11 = F Y = 495 77 Y = 55 9 9 × Y = 55 × 9 Y = 495 Work: 4 55 x 9 495

Homework: Solve each division equation. 4 T = 16 9 3. Z = 28 3 P = 7 5 10 = K 8 4 = S 8 A = 3 7 8. 100 = W 66 B = 16 2 9 = Y 6
