Day 2—July 2 Confederate army takes high ground on Seminary Ridge Confederate troops attack both the right and left flanks of the Union forces Assaults on both Union flanks turned back, with some loss of position
Day 3—July 3 Late in the afternoon, Union center repulses “Pickett’s Charge” Position reached by Confederate troops on Cemetery Ridge called “the High Water Mark of the Confederacy” 20,000 Confederates vs. 20,000 Federals engaged
