The Fishbowl Activity Adam Wrestch

The Basics You have two groups: The observers (outside) and the speakers (inside). The speakers will either debate or discuss a topic that they have been learning in lesson. The observers write down notes to assess and learn from the discussion. The observers have specific roles. Teachers will have to “train” students to setup this activity. You may need more than one lesson for students to fully understand how to conduct themselves in this activity.
