Theme Poster Assignment Create a poster based on one of the following themes of The Wave. With a partner choose a theme word from below and complete a theme statement that demonstrates an important message, moral, or lesson from the novel. EX –Power leads to greed and selfishness. Power Wisdom/Knowledge Independence Leadership Equality Choices Freedom of Speech Courage Diversity Fear Unity/Teamwork Rebellion Forced Compliance Isolation Your poster must contain: The theme word, featured prominently. A dictionary definition appropriate to the novel. Two quotation from a movie, book, song or poem which features the theme word. A symbol (illustration) of the word and an explanation of its relevance to the story. A five to eight sentence explanation of how the word, the theme, has an effect on people’s lives.
