Identifying Gaps in Note Taking Tutorials are getting better, but we need to bring better notes to class Practice Cornell notes on this sample math textbook page You will have 5 minutes to complete this task

Missing Formulas or Definitions

Skipped Steps or Unrecorded Information

Helpful Ideas or Important Things to Do

Processes of How to Do Something

Types of Problems You Didn’t Cover

Let’s Practice! In your groups, EACH of you take out a page of notes from any class Try to identify any gaps in each set of notes. Are they in Cornell format? Did you have questions anywhere? Did you complete a summary? Do you have formulas, vocab, and other needed info?

Summary In your groups, create one poster that depicts what you are doing well with note-taking and what needs improvement. Be ready to present to the class!

Each group has one of four road blocks to success Underneath the road block, rewrite it in your own words On the LEFT side of the poster, write down obstacles related to the road block

Road Block to Success On the RIGHT hand side, write down possible ways to overcome the road block
