The Flaring Problem Utilization Possibilities 108 billion cubic meters of associated gas are flared and vented annually. This contributes to global emissions of 300 million tons of carbon dioxide equivalents (CO2e) Options for flaring reduction: Gas reinjection Commercial use (liquefaction) On-site power generation. 108 billion cubic meter associated gas are equal to 125,000 MW of gas power p.a. If utilized in gas engines, 53,000 MW electricity p.a. could be generated. Introduction

PGI Engine Performance Gas Injection PGI – the gas engine without spark plugs High power output – comparable to diesel engines Highest thermal efficiency combined with extremely low emissions (low NOX, low SOX and low CO2) Ignition of pilot fuel at a hot surface inside prechamber. Low maintenance costs due to PGI concept: Ignition system without spark plugs Gas flexibility PGI Engine 12V32/40PGI

Dual-Fuel Engine 32/40DF, 51/60DF Fuel flexibility due to possible liquid-fuel (MDO, HFO, crude) and gaseous-fuel (natural gas, flare gas) operation. Automatic, uninterrupted switch over from gas to diesel fuel operation and vice versa. High efficiency and reliability. High specific engine rating up to 1000kW/Cly. 16/24 Originally developed for LPG market. Mixture of liquid (MDO, HFO, crude) and gaseous (natural gas, flare gas) fuels. Special technology for low quality gases (MN < 60, high content of heavy hydrogen carbonates, low heat value). Wide range of engine operations 18V32/40DF DF-Engine 7L51/60DF 9L16/24

Summary Onsite Power Generation Utilizing Flare Gas Highest reliability: Engines are built for 8000+ operating hours per year. Engines offer best efficiency ratio for on-site power generation. Providing electricity for the oil bore fields in remote areas or for local grids. Dual-fuel engines offer high fuel flexibility. PGI gas engine technology offers best efficiency and lowest emissions. Different site conditions, e.g. gas quality, quantity and power demand, require project specific solutions. For further information please visit us at the MAN Diesel stand. Summary Summary
